Hello from Paige and Dan
We purchased a lot of your products for our public art project, the
Goodlettsville Library Gardens in Goodlettsville Tennessee. It worked great!
We were able to overlap mesh, then add some light heat to weld them
together. This allowed us to make a 2.5′ x 5′ piece & install that (see
winter photo) as an all in one piece. We now know for some vertical installs
we should not exceed 3’X 4′ pieces.
The only slight problem was getting the smalti to stay glued to the mesh after
heating it. We so wish you would have come out with the NO Days Groutless
Mosaic Adhesive 6 months earlier )!. We think that would have been big
plus having the extra glue around the edges with the way these had to be
installed, so long as after heating the new the mesh it stays flexible.
Here are some photo shots of our completed work. We really like the no-day mesh. The opening is
not until spring 2012 when the grass and gardens are in & everything is in bloom.
The History, of the Goodlettsville Public Library “Garrett Family Garden” public art project it is named “season of change from a birds eye view” .
This was designed to be interactive with kids & families as a scavenger
hunt. we are making up a sheet to give to children who come to the library.
It will be a list of creatures & images they need to find & asking them
questions like how many acorns… can they find… and so on. These were made in
my/our studio and transferred to the site.
Thanks a lot.
